Thank you for visiting my fundraising page for TEAM RED WHITE & BLUE!
As a former officer in the United States Navy I have seen the issues faced by our Veterans returning from Iraq and Afghanistan. I know they need our support to start their lives again after serving, that is why I am an advocate for Team RWB.
Team Red, White & Blue’s vision is to transform the way wounded veterans are reintegrated into society when they return from combat and exit their position in the Active Duty force or National Guard.
Team RWB generates awareness though endurance events and as a professional triathlete I have the opportunity to greatly impact Team RWB's footprint in the world of triathlon. As a former member of the military's World Class Athlete Program the support of the Navy allowed me to reach great heights in triathlon. Now it is my turn to use this gift of sport to give back to our Veterans.
In 2001 American Tim DeBoom won the Ironman World Championships in Kona, Hawaii. Just four weeks after the 9/11 attacks DeBoom came down the finishing chute of the world's most prestigious multisport event proudly carrying the American flag. Since DeBoom no American has won the Ironman World Championships. On October 8th, 2011, a decade after his historical win in Kona I will be toeing the line at my first Ironman World Championships. When I race in Kona I will proudly be representing Team RWB and hope to be the next American to bring the world title home to the US. My goal is to raise $10,000 for RWB before I toe the line in commemoration of the decade that has passed since the tragic events of 9/11. I'll need your help to reach this goal!
