Victoria takes on brain AVM!
Thank you for visiting my page and supporting me on this walk. I was diagnosed with a rare and invisible chronic illness at age 18--arteriovenous malformation (AVM). Spending a considerable amount of time in the hospital, both during and after my incident, made me realize that as a young person, I am not invincible.
Dis/ability, rare disease, traumatic brain injury, chronic illness--these were words that were foreign until it happened. It's been 6 years since my diagnosis and surgery and it would mean a lot if you support me in this journey.
On Sunday, May 15, I will walk in honor of the people who lost their fight to AVM and to every AVM survivor who are unable to walk with us as a result of having an AVM or an aneurysm. We are the rare few who were born into this world, by pure chance, with a set of tangled blood vessels, but they do not have to define us.
Thanks and I shall see you at the finish line!
