Hello, and thanks for showing interest in donating money for autism research. For the last year I have been working and living with Henry Searcy, who was diagnosed with autism at a very young age. Back then, autism was very rare, and not much was known about this disability. Unfortunately today, 1 out of 150 children are diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. Making it the fasting growing epidemic in our society! However, we still know very little about the causes or treatment for autism.
Working with Henry has truly changed my life, so in that vein I want to do everything I can to help him, and others with this disability. So, on October 12 I will be running in the Chicago Marathon to raise money for autism research. I am hopeful that this research will help Henry and many others affected by autism,( along with their families) and even prevent future cases from occuring.
I have teamed up with my fiance who is running her first marathon. Together we hope to meet our goal of 5,000 dollars for this terrific cause.
