Dougie's Boston Marathon Team 2012

There is Hope... Keep Pushing Forward... One step at a time...

Hi everyone! Thanks for visiting my fundraising page! As an ongoing fundraiser, I am collecting empty cans and bottles with a 5 cent deposit through April 13, 2012. We had a very succeessful  bottle and can drive on campus, where we collected more than 4,000 redeemable cans and bottles- but more importantly- increased autism awareness! Thank you all for your continuous support!

(update:4/20) So far I have collected 14,065 cans and bottles for a total of $703.00.

Join me on facebook- "Cans for Change: A Fundraiser for Autism"

This year, on April 16, 2012, I will embark on the 26.2 mile journey from Hopkinton to Boston. I am honored to be selected to run and raise funds for the Doug Flutie, Jr. Foundation for Autism.

Autism is a cause near and dear to my heart, as I have taught children with autism for the past two years. I am committed to seeing lives changed and making a difference- one family at a time.  I seek to inspire and encourage others. One of the greatest joys I have experienced is teaching students with limited to no verbal skills, how to communicate effectively through use of the iPad, as a communication device (Proloquo2go app). This innovative technology has greatly enhanced education for students with autism.

Please help me, as I join the Doug Flutie Foundation, to promote autism awareness, increase research, and develop programs to help desperate families. I thank you in advance for your consideration, and donation. Every little bit helps.

If you would prefer to write a check..Make checks payable to "Doug Flutie, Jr. Foundation for Autism with my name "Alison L'Heureux" in the memo.

*Send checks to 270 Cole Ave, Providence, RI 02906

I am so grateful and blessed.

This year, I am a graduate assistant at Moakley TV Studio at Bridgewater State University. The following videos were created by undergraduate students I work with on a daily basis to help promote my cause. Please take a look at their  great work!
