This will be my 6th consectutive year to walk the 20 miles for Prevent Child Abuse Texas in beautiful San Antonio Texas on November 1st, 2014!
Before the 20 mile walk one year the president of PREVENT CHILD ABUSE TEXAS asked us to spend our day (as we walked) thinking about what the world would look like if there were NO child abuse. It's quite a thing to contemplate, well, imagine, really. I think our prisons might be empty, our homes happy, and our lives more free of fear.
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page for Prevent Child Abuse Texas! I am so excited to share my support for what this organization is doing and its one goal--ending child abuse! Many thanks to those of you who supported me in this event last five years. This is a very meaningful event for me and I am pleased to be doing it again this year.
I am passionate about helping children and protecting children from abuse. In my work as a family therapist, I see first hand how abuse can impact a person in all aspects of life...spiritual, emotional, relational and physical. I specialize in working with survivors of childhood abuse, and in this my aim is to help HEAL the damage done by such devastating experiences.
I recently created a post with current stats about child abuse. Check it out here. I am deeply moved at the awareness that many children are being abused today. When I learned of this event many years ago I decided to do what I could to PREVENT child abuse...even if that means lots of blisters and sore muscles! Prevent Child Abuse Texas works hard to create awareness and education to communities and people who work directly with children to help ensure safety for as many kids as possible.
My goal is to raise $1000 this year. Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts. But you can also contact my by email at email@example.com and I'll send you a form via snail mail!
I really want to thank you for your support. It means a great deal to me.
Please share this on your facebook, twitter or other social media page or forward to anyone who you think might want to donate or do the walk too!
