Thank you to everyone who supported me in 2009. Thanks to your genorosity, we were able to raise $145,000 which was enough to build two schools in Angola. You can see the two schools that you paid for featured in the YouTube video featured at the left. The Gamba Nongola school was fully completed when our team visited in January while the Kaila school was still under construction when our team visited. Once again thank you for stepping up and make these schools a reality.
This year Team RISE set a challenging goal of building 3 more schools by raising $210,000. We recruited a total of 100 runners and have felt hopeful that with the help of people like you, we would reach our goal.
Unfortunately for me personally, I sustained an knee injury back in June and had to stop my training. I had hoped to restart training and still complete the marathon but instead I will be having arthroscopic surgery in September.
My inability to run doesn’t stop the needs of the children of Angola. There are still millions of children there who will be unable to go to school because they lack schools.
Though I cannot run, I am appealing to your continued generosity to help Team RISE and the children of Angola. I’d like to ask that you once again support the children as you did last year. You can make a safe online donation to my fundraising page now by clicking the button below.
