Running To Ease the Burden of Women's Arthritis

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!

Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts.

I'm combining my love of long-distance running and my desire to help improve the health and well-being of women who suffer the burden of arthritis by running the Long Beach Marathon with that purpose in mind.  You can help!

Arthritis includes various conditions that affect joint health and a person's ability to perform everyday activities.  As a member of Soroptimist International, an organization dedicated to improving the lives of women locally and internationally, I am focusing this particular fundraising effort on arthritis suffered by women.

Arthritis does not discriminate by age or any other factor.  Chances are you know a woman -- perhaps your mother or sister or daughter or friend -- who suffers with this disease.  My mother is affected, as are several of my friends and colleagues.  I would like to see the suffering that arthritis causes GONE.

I am a healthy 46-year-old woman who is running her sixth marathon.  I am not the fastest runner, but I do always finish my races.  Please help me make each of those 26.2 miles count on October 12, 2008 by making a donation.

I would like to thank Soroptimist International of the Americas -- Camino Real Region, and especially Governor Cheri Fleming of Valencia, California, for establishing a 2-year special project for the 29 Soroptimist clubs of the Camino Real Region (representing several hundred business and professional women) to raise money for this cause.  I would also like to thank my primary corporate sponsor, Body Cosmetics of Beverly Hills - , for their support in this endeavor.

Many thanks to all of you for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
