Dear Friends and Family,
Thank you for taking part in my Bar Mitzvah. I am excited to celebrate with everyone at my Bar Mitzvah celebration in just a few weeks. While I am a bit nervous, I am really excited to finally be able to lain Parshat Va’yakhel and daven Musaf. It is hard to believe that this important day is almost here!
Two of my greatest passions are Israel and technology. I have been fortunate to visit Israel many times in my life. I love spending time there with family and visiting places there that I have learned about in Tanach. I have always enjoyed technology and am good at working with computers so for my Bar Mitzvah I have chosen to raise money to support the iPad program at Beit Issie Shapiro.
Beit Issie Shapiro is an organization in Israel dedicated to children and adults with developmental and physical disabilities. Issie Shapiro was a cousin of my great grandmother, Rona Katz. He started Beit Issie when he made Aliyah from South Africa and saw the need for a place where children with disabilities would become functioning members of society.
Beit Issie Shapiro is currently in the pilot stage of pioneering the use of iPads for children with disabilities including those with Cerebral Palsy, mild to moderate cognitive impairment, and developmental disabilities including Autism, with a particular focus on enabling those who are not communicative to communicate.
My goal is to raise $5000 for the iPad project at Beit Issie Shapiro. Please help me achieve this goal by giving an $18 - $36 donation.
Let’s work together to reach my goal!
