Law Enforcement Torch Run 2010

Dunwoody Police Department

The Dunwoody Police Department has been very active in supporting Special Olympics Georgia and the athletes who participate through the Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR). On February 20, 2010, 8 members of the Dunwoody Police Department, Councilman Shortal and numerous other citizens and law enforcement professionals from across the metro area participated in the 2010 Polar Plunge benefitting Special Olympics Georgia. We jumped into the freezing water raising over $5,000; Statewide, the event raised a total of over $50,000.

The Dunwoody Police Department also particapated in Cuffed for a Cause, at Perimeter Mall, and had the Law Enforcement Torch Run itself.  In total, the Dunwoody Police Department raised over $12,000 in 2010 for Special Olympics Georgia.

The 2011 Law Enforcement Torch Run year, which started August 1st, has gotten off to a great start.  The Dunwoody Police Explorers sponsored the Dunwoody Special Olympics Car Show which was held on August 14, 2010. Despite the weather, the event turned out great and raised over $5,000 for Special Olympics Georgia.
We need your help!  We plan on participating in several events this year to raise funds and awareness for Special Olympics Georgia.  On February 19, 2011, we will hold the 2nd Annual Polar Plunge benefitting Special Olympics Georgia.  We will have a plunge team later on Firstgiving where you can sign up to plunge or support the event.  We are working on other events as well.  Your support will truly make this a great year.  Please help us help an athlete by making a donation below.  All donations are greatly appreciated.
