Dunwoody Police Department
The Dunwoody Police Department has been very active in supporting Special Olympics Georgia and the athletes who participate through the Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR). On February 20, 2010, 8 members of the Dunwoody Police Department, Councilman Shortal and numerous other citizens and law enforcement professionals from across the metro area participated in the 2010 Polar Plunge benefitting Special Olympics Georgia. We jumped into the freezing water raising over $5,000; Statewide, the event raised a total of over $50,000.
The Dunwoody Police Department also particapated in Cuffed for a Cause, at Perimeter Mall, and had the Law Enforcement Torch Run itself. In total, the Dunwoody Police Department raised over $12,000 in 2010 for Special Olympics Georgia.
