Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!

As most of you know, 9 years ago I was diagnosed with carcinoid cancer after a trip to the doctor with symptoms of coughing and wheezing.  A golf ball size carcinoid tumor was discovered in my right lung.  I was totally blindsided and devastated by the diagnosis, but did what I had to do and underwent a lung resection on July 11, 2002.

Wanting to feel whole and healthy again, I began running in March, 2006.  I had never run before and now faced training for my first 5K with just one lung.  I completed that first 5K on July 2, 2006, almost exactly 4 years after losing my lung.  I have since completed over 40 5Ks and 8Ks, 9 half marathons and last year on 10/10/10, the ultimate, the Chicago Marathon!

I have made the decision to train again this year and am happy to say I have joined the team that raises money for research for the cancer that stole my lung.  I am a proud member of the CARING FOR CARCINOID team for the 2011 Chicago Marathon!

Please support me by donating to Caring for Carcinoid.  I have set my fundraising goal at $3000.  Any amount you donate will be greatly appreciated by me and my fellow carcinoid patients.  Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts.

Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!

Much love and thanks,

Bonnie Fields Liebovich
