Run of Hope Seattle 2011

This cute kid pictured is my cousin’s son Kyle. For such a young person Kyle had a way of bringing energy into a room. He simply commanded your attention and had you laughing and playing in short order. A few years ago Kyle was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor.

I can’t tell you how humbling it was to see this six year old battle for two years. Even through his treatment Kyle kept his infectious smile and titan personality. He didn’t let his situation dictate his life. Family and friends started a mantra for Kyle. “OOO-UM-GOW-AH Kylie's got the POWA!

Sadly Kyle is no longer with us. Team OOO-UM-GOW-AH has been formed in his honor. We are going to participate in the third annual Seattle Run of Hope at Seward Park on September 25th. This is a 5K run / 3K walk with benefits going to Kyle’s doctor Jim Olson and the Seattle Children’s Research Institute.

As a personal trainer I see a lot of people that act helpless and pretend that there is nothing they can do with the cards they have been dealt. I wish those people could have seen the guts and bravery that a little boy, not even a decade old, showed every day. Please help our team and the doctors at Seattle Children’s Hospital by making a donation today.

Thank you for your support,

Brent Collins
