Britt's Page

I am participating in this event in honor of my uncle. Uncle Todd has been an influential and inspiring part of my life. From teaching me about music to encouraging me as an artist to spending hours laughing and reminiscing, he has been a someone that I can always turn to for advice or comedic relief. As a writer, I have found myself gravitating towards my uncle and his incredible story for inspiration. As a niece, I always look forward to the time I spend with him. The most important lesson that I have learned from my uncle and our family through our most difficult times is to laugh. Throughout all of our most difficult times as a family, we have found the ability to joke, which often takes the sting away from whatever is testing or trying us.

My uncle is first and foremost an artist. Through his art he is able to capture a part of the human condition and reflect it through his unique vision. He creates an experience that can challenge conventions, inspire thought, and insight deep emotional experiences. His work is beautiful, complex, and powerful. He has used his gift to inspire others by teaching and by sharing his creations. My uncle has much to offer the world, and those of us who are privileged to have him in our lives continuously benefit from his influence.
