Caitlin Webb's Page

Hello!  Thank you for visiting my Personal Fundraising Page.

My name is Caitlin Webb and I am the lucky teacher of an amazing class of fifth graders in Newton, Massachusetts.  Even though I am currently enjoying the challenge of my first year teaching, I also just decided to take on another challenge:  The Boston Marathon!  Why am I willing to run 26.2 miles, you ask?  Well, here's why:  The Melanoma Foundation of New England!

"The Melanoma Foundation of New England was founded in 1999 by Mel and Marilyn Rubin following the tragic loss of their son, Mark, to melanoma. The Foundation was created to combat the rising rate of melanoma and melanoma deaths. The foundation provides a variety of educational programs targeting the prevention and early detection of skin cancer and melanoma for both children and adults.

The Foundation also assists patients and their caregivers struggling with melanoma by offering support groups, educational programs, and Billy's Buddies, a new one-on-one patient advocacy and support program. These programs are all free." (From

Because of fundraising events like this, The Foundation is capable of providing the support that cancer patients need.  I am truly honored to be selected as a fundraiser for this program.  However, I NEED your help!

My fundraising goal is $4,000.  I committed to raising this amount all before I run 26.2 miles on Monday, April 16th.  Any contribution you can make will be greatly appreciated. Whether it's a large sum or just $5, your dontation to this foundation will go a LONG way.
