Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!
While I have always been active, my love for running didn't truly begin until 2016. My friend Katelyn and I began to run after work, and after her encouragement and aid in keeping me on pace, I began to run farther every week. After watching Kate cross the 2017 Boston Marathon finish line, I was inspired to make something of the miles I had already been logging.
While I've known about JAF since 2013 through my nonprofit experience in the Boston community, I decided 2017 would be the year I got off the sidelines and joined in the fight. JAF provides financial assistance to patients and families of cancer patients, to help them focus on their recovery, a cause close to home for many.
As many of you also know, my cousin, Liz Miesen, was diagnosed with cancer again in 2016. Liz is a powerhouse and has navigated every setback in her fight with grace and humility. To know Liz is to love her; every neighbor, friend and family member has something positive to say about her. She has been a life-long role model for me and is a living example of what "living life to the fullest" really means.
Liz, this one's for you.
Thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
