Walk for Epilepsy - Jacksonville 2011
Please join Team Klein in raising awareness and donations for the Epilepsy Foundation of Florida. We will be walking April 16th at Memorial Park in Riverside.
I know most of you know Sean's story, but want to share for those who do not. Sean had his first seizure May 12th 2007 at 2 1/2 years old, until that moment he was perfectly healthy. To this day we are still trying to control his seizures, seems when we get one type controlled another comes along. For Sean (and many) epilepsy means more than just seizures, continued seizures have caused global .developmental delays, so although Sean is 6 years old, developmentally he is more like a 3 to 4 year old. Sean has to have physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy along with having to be in a special class at school for those with delays.
This year we are also walking in memory of Ezekial Frier. Ezekial was just 3 years old when he passed away January 1st. 2011 here in Jacksonville, taken much too soon due to SUDEP (sudden unexplained death in epilepsy). Ezekial's parents also have a 1 year old and a 5 year old who also have epilepsy, I can't even begin to imagine what they have been through and are going through. . To read more about the Frier family see the link below
Please join Team Klein to help bring awareness to epilepsy and in raising money for the Epilepsy Foundation of Florida.
Thanks so very much
