2012 Knoxville Ride for Kids®

2012 Knoxville Ride for Kids®

I am participating and raising funds for this year’s Knoxville Ride For Kids® motorcycle charity event on July 29st 2012. All of the funds raised at the Ride For Kids® go to the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation (PBTF) which is the world’s largest, non-governmental provider of pediatric brain tumor research funding. The PBTF has been honored by Charity Navigator by receiving their 6th consecutive 4 star rating placing them in the top 3% of charities nationally for their sound fiscal responsibility, transparency, and ability to grow their assets to meet their responsibilities.

The Ride For Kids® is not only the primary source of donations for the PBTF, but it also gives families whose children are surviving with a brain tumor the opportunity to have a fun family day and meet other families going through the same experiences that they are. The other function of the Ride For Kids® is to raise awareness in the community of the prevalence (10 children a day receive a diagnosis of a brain tumor) and severity of childhood brain tumors, which is the deadliest form of childhood cancer.

Because of the efforts of the PBTF there are many new treatments available to families, and the diagnosis of a brain tumor isn’t automatically a death sentence anymore, but we still have a very long way to go. Research can provide the answers these children and families so desperately need, and your donation will go a long way in making this a reality. Please find it in your heart to make a donation to my personal fundraising page. It’s fast, secure, and easy to help make a difference in a child’s life, and any donation will be appreciated.
