2012 Paddle for Autism Awareness - NYC

Christina Coscia's Page

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!

For those of you that don't know me, I am an elementary school teacher. I have had great experiences working with many children, but one that has left a mark on my heart was a child with Autism. The first time I encountered Autism, I knew nothing about it nor did I know how to approach it. This worried me and then it became scarier because I was not alone in my lack of knowledge. Too many schools, parents, doctors, therapists, etc. lack the resources and support available for children with Autism here in the states and around the world. Molly Ola Pinney (founder of the Global Autism Project) opened my eyes to Autism and it's many faces. I wanted to help but I was skeptical. "How can I help? This is something too big and out of my reach!" But then came phonecalls, meetings, fundraising events, the children and their families...I am a part of something BIG and it is amazing! I want to invite you to be a part of something BIG, a part of the Global Autism project and our strides in Autism awareness.

Many thanks for your support...Come join us for the NYC Paddle!!!.
