2017 Inland NW Step UP for Down Syndrome Walk

Christopher Yen's Page

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!

Every year I support my awesome nephew, Olie, by participation in the DS Connections NW walk to support Down's Syndrome.  Did you know:

  • People with Down syndrome attend school, work, participate in decisions that affect them, have meaningful relationships, vote and contribute to society in many wonderful ways.
  • All people with Down syndrome experience cognitive delays, but the effect is usually mild to moderate and is not indicative of the many strengths and talents that each individual possesses.
  • Quality educational programs, a stimulating home environment, good health care and positive support from family, friends and the community enable people with Down syndrome to lead fulfilling and productive lives.

Those facts all point to the truth that people with Down's Syndrome can lead high functioning lives and can actively participate in contributing to society and enjoying life!  And yet due to stigma, misunderstanding, and fear, many families have to deal with obstacles that hinder their access to support and services.

And that's why I ask for your support.  DS Connections NW strives to provide the necessary support and services to families all over the Pacific Northwest Region.  It is their work that make possible the many stories of families whose lives are changed for the better.  So, please join me in making a donations to support Olie and all kids and families.  They thank you ... and so do I!

Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts.

Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
