2011 Polar Plunge Yorkville

Yes, it is already that time of year again!  Last year's Plunge was a huge success, thanks to you!  I will once again be taking that "refreshing" dip in the lake...after the local fire department cuts an opening in the ice.  Seeing first hand what Special Olympics means to the athletes who participate all year long in the many different programs will be more than enough to keep my thoughts warm as I enter the lake on March 6th.

I’m collecting donations from family, friends, co-workers and anyone else who wants to support the nearly 21,000 athletes with intellectual disabilities and more than 4,000 Young Athletes ages 2-7 of Special Olympics Illinois! Your donations will help provide athletes with intellectual disabilities the chance to participate in year-round sports training and competition.

To reward your generosity, I’m going to join more than 5,150 people statewide who will voluntarily jump into freezing cold water in the middle of winter as we take part in the Law Enforcement Torch Run Polar Plunges for Special Olympics Illinois. I guess you could say that I’m “Freezin’ for a Reason”!

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to make a contribution to the LETR Polar Plunge for Special Olympics Illinois.

Many thanks for your support – and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
