Courtney Boutwell's Journey to CSH

Hi! I am Courtney and I am a 17 year old Junior at Pelham High School in Pelham, AL. I play the flute and I love politics. After I graduate in 2013 I plan to go to Auburn University and major in Psychology. I also happen to have Type 1 Diabetes, which is why I have made this website.

Every year for the past six years I have attended Camp Seale-Harris in Alabama. Camp Seale-Harris is a camp specifically for kids with Diabetes. I learned a lot of great things at camp every year I was a camper. Mostly I learned that I have to take care of my Diabetes if I want to live a long and healthy life. Plus, I have made some great friends over the past six years and we all keep in touch in between camp every year.

This year is a different experience for me at camp. I was recently selected to be a Counselor-in-Training at Camp Seale Harris. This basically means that I am still a camper but I am in training to become a counselor in the future. I will still have fun doing all the regular activities and education sessions that I normally do at camp but I will have extra responsibilities, as well.

I was so excited to get this news! This is an awesome opportunity for me. This is where your help comes in. I will need to raise $600 for my camp fees before June 2, 2012. That is the day I leave for camp. Any amount you can give would be greatly appreciated. All donations are tax deductible. Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts.

Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate, too!
