Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!

Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts.

Most years I ask for donations for my 3-Day 60 mile walk. This year I have decided to attend the first National Women's Survivors Conference in Nashville, TN and it landed on the same weekend as my 3-Day Walk in Twin Cities. So- this year, I am asking for donations to FORCE (Facing Our Risk Of Cancer Empowered) instead.

FORCE is a very important organization for me and my family. As most of you know, I carry the BRCA2 gene mutation. I was diagnosed with breast cancer 2 times by the young age of 35. My younger sister Erin, also carries this gene mutation. Instead of waiting to get cancer (with the gene mutation, you have an 87% chance of getting breast or ovarian cancer in your lifetime)- she was proactive. She decided to have both her breasts removed and her ovaries taken out to lower her chances of getting this dreadful disease.

My oldest child (and only biological daughter)- Sedona, is now 19. She has a 50% chance of carrying this gene mutation. FORCE is the only national nonprofit organization devoted to hereditary breast and ovarian cancer. Their mission includes support, education, advocacy, awareness, and research specific to hereditary breast and ovarian cancer. Their programs serve anyone with a BRCA mutation or a family history of cancer.

Imagine watching your daughter grow up with the fear that she may carry this gene. A fear that she may have an 87% chance in her lifetime of getting breast or ovarian cancer. A fear that she may need to choose the option of having her breasts and ovaries removed at a young age.

Please help FORCE with a donation to my fundraising page. Any amount is appreciated. Donate $5 (give up your Starbucks coffee for a day), $17 (I am a 17 year Survivor), $19 (for each year of Sedona's life), $50 (I just turned the big 5-0) , $87 (for the 87% chance that people with this gene mutation have of getting breast or ovarian cancer in their lifetime)- or any amount that is comfortable for you.

Thanks to all of you that have continued to help me fundraise over the last 17 years. With your help and the help of Pink Wings team members, Pink Wings has raised nearly $500,000 in the fight against cancer!!

Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
