Thank you for visiting my personal fundraising page for the Coaster Challenge benefiting Special Olympics Illinois. On Sept. 28, I will test my bravery by riding multiple world class roller coasters at Six Flags Great America!
I am hoping to do a full marathon, which is 26.2 miles (138,336 ft) worth of roller coaster riding at Six Flags Great America. Thanks to RCDB.com, I was able to get the length of the rides and about how many times I would need to ride to get the marathon (for the rides I fit on).
American Eagle - 4,650 ft - 30 rides
Dark Knight - 1,213 ft - 115 rides
Demon - 2,130 ft - 65 rides
Little Dipper - 700 ft - 198 rides
Raging Bull - 5,057 ft - 28 rides
Superman - 2,798 ft - 50 rides
Viper - 3,458 ft - 40 rides
Whizzer - 3,100 ft - 45 rides
X Flight - 3,000 ft - 47 rides
Total - 26,106 ft - 6 times
While I could spend my tme on Raging Bull or American Eagle, everyone else will be hitting them to get their feet in. Also, riding on American Eagle 30 times would make me extra bruised.
My goal is to split time between different rides to get about 50 rides in. While that sounds like fun, I have a feeling that I am going to be hurting by the end of this.
So, I am asking, if possible, please donate to Special Olympics of Illinois and help support a wonderful cause. I need to raise $1,000 to partake in the full marathon so please help!
I hope you will join me in my efforts to support the athletes of Special Olympics Illinois! Your donations help provide the nearly 21,500 Special Olympics athletes with intellectual disabilities and the more than 18,000 Young Athletes (ages 2-7) the chance to participate in year-round sports training and competition – all at no charge to the athletes or their families! Quite simply, your support transforms lives!
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to make a contribution to my efforts. Many thanks for your support – and don’t forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
