Walking Oregon in support of the Oregon Food Bank
Thank you for visiting my page.
This page exists as one method of raising funds for my walk in April and for the OFB. I will also be raising funds through a personal website.
My journey will start and end at the state capitol of Salem. I will cross the Cascades, the high desert, walk along the Columbia River, and for 150 miles along the coast of the Pacific Ocean. All in all, I will walk around 1000 miles and visit many towns in hopes of drawing attention to this organization.
In 2008, the OregonFoodBank distributed around 900,000 food boxes to hungry people in Oregon. Emergency food boxes supply a family of 4 with enough food to last 3-4 days. In addition to the distribution of food boxes, the OFB also distributes food to many regional soup kitchens, allowing thousands of homeless folks across the state access to a warm meal.
Personal gifts are also appreciated, as I will be walking 8 hours per day with a 40-pound pack strapped to my back and only my EBT card to keep me fed.
Any amount helps.
