GKTW Pittsburgh Marathon Challenge
I'm registered to run the 2012 Pittsburgh Marathon. In addition to meeting my own personal goal to cross the finish line on Sunday, May 6, I am dedicated to raising funds for Give Kids The World Village. Give Kids The World (GKTW) is a non-profit resort in Central Florida (only 3 miles from Walt Disney World) where children with life-threatening illnesses and their families stay (cost-free) when they have a wish to visit the area. I am privileged to be able to run, train for a marathon, and travel. Many of these children and families do not have these same opportunities, and this is one small way I can give back.
What can you do to help? Consider sponsoring me $1/mile for the Pittsburgh Marathon - $26.20 total, or $0.50/mile - ($13.10 total), or $10, or even $1. If only 40 people donate $26.20 to this effort, together we would raise over $1,000 for GKTW. Every donation helps, and no donation is too small. Every bit will go to help these children.
Donating through this site is simple, fast, and totally secure. Your contribution to this GKTW Pittsburgh Marathon Challenge will make a huge difference in the lives of these special children. Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to share this opportunity with anyone who you think might want to donate to the Village as well!
This fundraiser is just one small part of a larger, ongoing campaign called The Power of 10 to raise $1,000,000 for GKTW. To learn more about the Power of 10: GKTW $1,000,000 Challenge follow this link: http://www.firstgiving.com/fundraiser/david-parfitt/disgktw
