Thank you for being a part of our special day! Colleen and I were legally married on 27 November 2013 in Vancouver, Washington. A mere 23 days later, Judge Robert Shelby struck down Amendment 3 in our home state of Utah and we were able to legally marry in Utah also. We've been witness to hundreds of same sex couples getting legally married in Utah, and I've even had the honor of officiating several of them.
These are exciting times we are living in. In 2013 we witnessed 9 states support marriage equality, doubling the number at the end of 2012. My wife Colleen and I are the MEUSA local organizers for the state of Utah and we couldn't be more thrilled to be a part of this incredible organization. MEUSA doesn't just sit back and watch--they are active, out there, visible, making their voices heard. It has truly been a blessing to have been a part of this groundbreaking work going on in our country and in our home state.
As we celebrate our marriage and plan our reception, we respectfully request that you please donate to this non-profit group that helps keep everyone informed--that helps to make equality happen for us everywhere--and that every year puts blood, sweat, and tears into its Peaceful Valentine's Day Actions across the nation, changing minds and hearts everywhere.
In lieu of wedding gifts, we ask that you make a donation to Marriage Equality USA. We thank you and love you from the bottom of our hearts!! Cheers to Marriage Equality EVERYWHERE.
