Their Mission

WWF's mission is to conserve nature and reduce the most pressing threats to the diversity of life on Earth. They organize their work around these six ambitious goals:

  • FORESTS - Conserve the world's most important forests.
  • OCEANS - Safegaurd healthy oceans and marine livelihoods.
  • FRESH WATER - Secure water for people and nature.
  • WILDLIFE - Protect the world's most important species.
  • FOOD - Double net food availability; freeze its footprint.
  • CLIMATE - Creat a climate-resilient and zero-carbon world, powered by renewable energy.

What They Do

The world’s leading conservation organization, WWF works in 100 countries and is supported by 1.1 million members in the United States and close to 5 million globally. WWF seeks to practice conservation that is humane in the broadest sense.

WWF protects wildlife because wildlife inspires us all. They focus their efforts on species--like tigers, rhinos, whales and marine turtles--whose protection influences and supports the survival of other species or offers the opportunity to protect whole landscapes or marine areas. They seek to be the voice for those creatures who have no voice. They speak for their future.
