Occupation: WATE News Anchor/Reporter
What is your dance experience? My dance experience is extremely varied, but consistently spastic. As a child I was part of a dance company for a number of years. We had classes for everything from ballet to jazz and tap to acrobatics. But again, I was a child and it was a long, long time ago. It's going to take some real brushing up to get my dancing shoes going again. As a cheerleader in high school, we perfomred competition routines frequently. I've mastered the art of the eight count while simutaneously not knocking over the person dancing next to me. So I've got that going for me.
Why are you doing this event? The work Children's Hospital performs is outstanding. Their efforts are felt by thousands of children and their families each and every year. Any small thing I can do to help them impact the lives of local children is well worth my time, even if I end up with some bruised and battered ankles along the way.
Why should people vote for you? It will be fun! Plus, it will mean I'll really have to go for it out there as I'll feel obligated to dance my little heart out. Everyone knows as the enthusiasm goes up so does the chance of falling. Who doesn't love a good, uncoordinated, full loss-of-bodily-control fall?
Anything else you would like to add? I'm very excited to take part in this event. At the end of the day, it's about what we all can do to help Children's Hospital and the children that rely on it.
