For the 8th year in a row, Team Itty BItty Kitty Committee will be participating in Dog-A-Thon, The Humane Society for Tacoma and Pierce County's walk for homeless animals.
Thanks to some really amazing, compassionate, and supportive folks and friends, in our many years of fundraising, we've raised over $630,000 for the cats and kittens at the shetler. Each year we set a big goal, and we've exceeded it every time! We're proud of what our community has raised and love seeing our money being put to good use.
This year we're dreaming big and and we're hoping you'll be able to help us raise $100,000 for the shelter by making a contribution to our campaign. It's a lot, we know, but we've set this goal at $100,000 before, and have exceeded it every time. We feel confident we can reach our goal again because there are so many caring and generous cat and kitten lovers like you to help us get there.
Even though it's called "Dog-A-Thon", all of the money raised by the Itty Bitty Kitty Committee Team will go directly to the cats and kittens -- every single penny of it. It will help fund the foster program and in-house and off-site adoption programs. It will help make shelter improvements for the cats. It will buy cozy little fleece beds, toys, scratchers, and cubbies to help make a cat's stay at the shelter more comfortable. It will help reduce the cost of spay and neuter surgeries for pets of lower income families. It will help fix the feral and free-roaming cats in our community and place them through our Barnyard Cat and Back Yard Buddies Program. It will fill bellies with nutritious food. It will provide medical care for tiny kittens, adult, senior, and special need cats.
So, the more we raise, the more we help the cats and kittens!
We do hope you'll consider supporting our cause!
And if you're free, walk with us!
On Saturday, July 23th at 9:00 AM you can join more than 1,000 other animal advocates and their four-legged friends for Washington's biggest dog walk -- the 26th annual Dog-A-Thon!
Held at Fort Steilacoom Park in Lakewood, this fun, family event has something for everyone: lakeside and scenic trails, dozens of pet-related booths, demonstrations, contests, entertainment, food trucks, and much more!
We'll be there too! And Wylla Stout, our harness-trained permanent resident cat at the IBKC will walk the walk with us!
