Hi everyone, my name is Elle and I review makeup and make tutorials as "InsideOut Elle" on Blogger & Youtube.
"InsideOut" comes from me wanting to let people get to know me from inside out and reflects my philosophy of what beauty truly is. It sounds trite but true beauty comes from the inside and it will shine through the words you say, the smiles you give, and the good intentions you have in all that you do. But as nice as those words sound I often forget them and this blog (and YT) is also meant to be a reminder of that belief.
At the same time I don't see any harm in trying reflect your inner beauty on your face using makeup and taking good care of your skin. Besides it's a fine thing to be able to smile confidently into the camera and at all the people you meet :) It's terrible how cruel, hateful people are usually given way too much leeway simply because they have a pretty mask; by the same measure, it's terrible how most of the time good, kind people are overlooked or made fun of because of a their physically plain face. There's everything wrong with trying to be pretty only on the outside and there's nothing wrong with shaping yourself into a person beautiful inside out.
I wrote those words when I first opened my blog, so in keeping with that philosophy, I would like to support Habitat for Humanity. Inspired by Ingrid (missglamorazzi), I'd like to encourage the cultivation of the kind of timeless beauty that only comes from within.
HFHI seeks to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness from the world, and to make decent shelter a matter of conscience and action. Habitat invites people of all backgrounds, races and religions to build houses together in partnership with families in need. Habitat has built more than 300,000 houses around the world, providing more than 1.5 million people in more than 3,000 communities with safe, decent, affordable shelter. Habitat is founded on the conviction that every man, woman and child should have a simple, decent, affordable place to live in dignity and safety.
I have been involved with H4H for several years and have had the oppertunity to participate in many builds both in the US and overseas (Kaoma, Zambia thru Global Village). Building homes is more than just giving someone a place to sleep - it's about giving people the dignity that comes with homeownership, the pride of being able to provide a safe home for your family, and having a place to set down roots. Every bit helps during these harsh economic times when many people have lost their jobs and homes. By donating just $5, we can all make a difference in lives of families everywhere.
