Hi, I'm Jason Sobocinski from Caseus Fromagerie and Bistro in New Haven and The Cooking Channel show “The Big Cheese.”
On Saturday, April 21, I'm riding with The Nature Conservancy in the Rock to Rock bike ride to raise funds to protect one of Connecticut’s greatest natural resources: Long Island Sound. I ask you to please make a pledge to support my ride and this great cause. Our team captain will even match your donation dollar-for-dollar up to $10,000!
I’m passionate about good food, and all good food starts with nature. Without healthy lands and waters, I wouldn’t be able to do what I love: feed you delicious food that’s grown, harvested and prepared sustainably! After the ride, please join us at the finish line at East Rock Park for a Picnic for the Planet to celebrate the role Long Island Sound and all our lands and waters play in feeding us.
As part of this event, I’ll be competing with Chef Bun Lai of Miya’s Sushi to see who can craft the most delicious and sustainable picnic dish. And you get to help select the ingredients! Just watch http://www.facebook.com/CT.NatureConservancy to find out more.
What do you think? Cheese or sushi in your picnic basket?
Vote with your dollars! When you do, you will help save an estuary that sustains more than 21 million people.
Your support means a great deal to me. Hope to see you at Rock to Rock!
P.S. Don’t forget to forward this to anyone who you think may wish to donate, too!
