Kentucky Derby Festival Half-Marathon

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!

Please help me to help senior dogs in need!!!!!

I will be running in the Kentucky Derby mini-marathon (13 miles) on April 28th 2012. All donations will go to a wonderful rescue called Kentucky Animal Relief Fund, Inc (KARF).

KARF is a non-profit animal rescue that focuses their work on rescuing, rehabilitating, and adopting out senior companion animals, who would otherwise be killed in local shelters. Senior dogs are over looked by most rescues because their vet bills are so high and most often, they do not get adopted. Once within our rescue, if a dog is not considered adoptable or does not get adopted, they will live out their life with one of our many foster Moms. No life is ever deemed unworthy.

It is my passion to help senior dogs in need, who would otherwise be killed. For the past three months I have been training to run in this half marathon. At 50 years of age, it is not a simple task. But to show my dedication for senior dogs, I feel it is important to do what I can, and am asking you to do what you can by helping out with a monetary donation.

The picture to the right, features one of KARFs rescues.  His name is Wally and he was rescued from a puppy mill. As you can imagine, our vet bills are extremely high and  it not only takes hours of dedication, but also donations from caring people, to keep this rescue operating.

I am asking all my friends to help KARF, by sponsoring me as I run this race. No amount is too small and all proceeds go directly to Kentucky Animal Relief Fund. Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. Donations are tax-deductible.

Please join me in helping those animals who are often overlooked and undervalued.

Please help me reach my goal of $2000.00

Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
