Hello friends and family I am once again running the Bank of America Chicago  Marathon for Team Oasis and asking for you to please consider making a donation to Oasis.  Many of you know about the organization which has become a  very important part of my entire famiies lives, but for those who don't please check out the website at Oasisfororphans.org.

I have procrastinated sending this out once again, trying to find the best way and the words to use to explain what Oasis means to me and to help you see how your donations have impacted so many all ready.  The problem is the words I have do not do it justice.

Alli (my 13 year old daughter) and I went to Kenya in November.  We traveled into the slums of Kibera and saw the hopeless situation of many orphan children.  Our senses were attacked as we entered with sights and smells that really have to have been seen to comprehend.  We heard horrible stories of abuse and hopelessness as we met with widows of aids shunned by friends and family trying desperately ot provide for their children.  Some of the women were themselves sick and knew that once they were gone the children they left behind would become victims of their environment.

We traveled to the beautiful lush, green safe land bought by funds donated by you and others who sponsered team Oasis, the future sight of The Shelter.

We went to The HIll and met our children Rose and Lawrence.  We saw the beautiful safe environment they are raised in.  We met the staff who teach, care for and LOVE the children.   We saw chidren being children, playing and laughing. Children who felt loved and protected and had hope for there future.

Please help us help other children have a future.  Watch the video attached and see the hope yourself!  Share this with anyone you know who might want to help and thank you!!
