I am honored to be part of the 2012 JettRide team. This is one way that I can make a difference and be supportive to the chidren and families who deal with Duchenne muscular dystrophy, (Duchenne) everyday. My goal is to raise awareness so that a cure can be found for Duchenne, and I feel blessed and privileged that I am able do to so. My motivation for participating is for Jett McSherry and for all the boys and families who need our support.
For 1 month, I will cycle 1,500 miles, from Minnesota, MN to Point Pleasant Beach, NJ! Over the course of 4 weeks, our team will bike through 8 states and over 100 cities/towns. The ride takes off from MN in July 1, 2012 and will arrive in NJ in August 3, 2012.
Duchenne is the most common lethal genetic disorder diagnosed during childhood today, affecting approximately 1 out of every 3,500 boys. Duchenne causes loss of muscle function and independence, there is no known treatment or cure for Duchenne.
With your help, I will ride for those who cannot. Each mile will bring us closer to finding a cure for Duchenne muscular dystrophy!
