Gillian's 2012 JettRide
I was a rider in the first-ever 2007 Jettride and I'm back this summer as a leader on JettRide 2012! Through the JettFoundation, I have met many boys and families with Duchenne and am inspired by their strong community and resilience. I am currently studying music and nursing at St. Olaf College in Minnesota.
Over the course of 4 weeks, our team will bike through 8 states and over 100 cities/towns. The ride takes off from MN on July 1, 2012 and will arrive in NJ on August 3, 2012.
I will be riding for boys who can't, boys with Duchenne muscular dystrophy (Duchenne). Duchenne is the most common lethal genetic disorder diagnosed during childhood today, affecting approximately 1 out of every 3,500 boys. Duchenne causes loss of muscle function and independence, there is no known treatment or cure for Duchenne.
With your help, I will ride for those who cannot. Each mile will bring us closer to finding a cure for Duchenne muscular dystrophy!
If you would like to sponsor my efforts, you may do so here!! If you would rather send a check, please make it payable to the Jett Foundation, 68 Evergreen Street, Suite 1, Kingston, MA 02364, with my name & JettRide written in the Memo.
