JettRide 2011

Welcome to The 2011 JettRide First Giving Page!!

The mission of the JettRide is to spread awareness, inspire siblings and unite families across America as we raise funds to fight Duchenne muscular dystrophy (Duchenne).

Duchenne is the most common lethal genetic disorder diagnosed in childhood today.  It is a progressive neuromuscular disorder that affects generally boys.  More than 20,000 boys in the US suffer from Duchenne - a disease that has no treatment or cure.  However, we have HOPE.  By raising awareness and money for research, we HOPE to give these boys a brighter future than the one that lies ahead.

The 2011 JettRide will be a 4 week tour beginning on July 5, 2011 at the Mall of America in Minnesota and end in Point Pleasant, New Jersey on August 5, 2011.

The JettRide is a fully supported bike-a-thon equipped with food, water stops, mechanical services, medical assistance, luggage transport and lodging.  All cyclists are required to raise $4,000 in order to participate in the event and receive incentives. The ride is facilitated by a professional cycling organization.

JettRiders will cycle 1,500 miles across 8 states.  The tour will visit families affected by DMD.  Other highlights include, the Mall of America (Bloomington, MN), Wisconsin Dells Water Park (Wisconsin Dells, WI), the Detroit Tigers vs Chicago White Sox @ Tiger Stadium (Detroit, MI), Cedar Point Amusement Park (Sandusky, OH), White Water Rafting (Confluence, PA) and much much more!!
