Joe's 2012 JettRide
This summer, I will help lead in a life changing adventure & I need your help! I will be participating in the JettRide 2012, This Is How We Roll!!
For 1 month, I will cycle 1,500 miles, from Minnesota, MN to Point Pleasant Beach, NJ!!! I will ride for boys who cannot, boys with Duchenne muscular dystrophy (Duchenne).
Born into a biking family in Seattle, Washington, Joe is a bike mechanic, tour leader, mountain biker, and long distance cyclotourist. He has worked for Adventure Cycling Association for 6 years as a mechanic and leader, and has ridden his touring bike in 19 states, 10 major cities, and dozens of small towns across the country. When not spinning away on rolling hills, he loves to teach bicycle repair at community bicycle co-ops. Joe can hardly contain his excitement for taking part in his first Jettride!
Duchenne is the most common lethal genetic disorder diagnosed during childhood today, affecting approximately 1 out of every 3,500 boys. Duchenne causes loss of muscle function and independence, there is no known treatment or cure for Duchenne.
