Team Marino's 2012 JettRide

Team Marino's 2012 JettRide

This summer, Kristyn and Justin Marino will join forces and cycle across America on JettRide 2012.  The sibilings will join a group of teens who will proudly cycle 1500 miles across America to raise funds and awareness for Duchenne muscular dystrophy (Duchenne).  Justin, who rode in 2011, will be joining the ride for his second summer, and has insipred his sister to do the same.

"As I graduate from high school and move on to college and the next chapter in my life, I'm ready to do something meaningful.  To be able to bike 1500 miles and raise awareness for Duchenne is what makes the trip worthwhile.  My brother participated last year and since then I knew the opportunity was something I couldn't pass up.  I look forward to meeting the families affected by Duchenne and I hope that one day there will be a cure." - Kristyn Marino

The Marino family has had the fortune of good health. They do not take this for granted and want to use this opportunity to ride & help raise awareness for those who cannot.

For 1 month, we will cycle 1,500 miles, from Minnesota, MN to Point Pleasant Beach, NJ, Riding for boys who cannot, boys with Duchenne. Over the course of 4 weeks, our team will bike through 8 states and over 100 cities/towns. The ride takes off from MN on July 1, 2012 and will arrive in NJ on August 3, 2012.

We will be riding for Jett McSherry, a family friend, who is battling Duchenne muscular dystrophy. Duchenne is the most common lethal genetic disorder diagnosed during childhood today, affecting approximately 1 out of every 3,500 boys. Duchenne causes loss of muscle function and independence, there is no known treatment or cure for Duchenne.

With your help, we will ride for those who cannot. Each mile will bring us closer to finding a cure for Duchenne muscular dystrophy!
