Hey this is John,
What does it take to make a winter-hating, snow-despising man dive in the freezing Atlantic?
What would make this otherwise sane (just go with it) person take a chance on losing his big toe in a frozen moment of altruism?
I'm not sure either, but I need your help to ensure that if I do lose an appendage, it is worth it.
You can use this page to donate or sign up for the frozen frivolity.
We plan on going down the night prior to the PLUNGE for the all ages party complete with a live band & libations. Anyone interested in hanging out for the weekend AND taking the plunge, let us know. BUT if you don't want to Plunge, you can also just come down for the party, cheap hotel rates, plentiful drink, and the joy of watching your favorite Irish Sea Lion freeze his whiskers off.
Now for all the Special Olympics comments already in progress...
Thank you for visiting my extreme Personal Fundraising Page for Special Olympics Virginia's Polar Plunge ® Winter Festival 2011. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure.
Special Olympics changes lives by benefiting more than 9,000 athletes with intellectual disabilities across our Commonwealth and impacts communities in many powerful ways. Your donation to Special Olympics Virginia through this event is vital in making transformation possible and changing views about people with intellectual disabilities. Special Olympics Virginia uses sports as a catalyst to change society’s perceptions and treatment of people with intellectual disabilities. This is an incredible cause, and I hope that you will come down and watch me take part in this great event.
