What does me riding a roller coaster for 10 hours straight have to do with raising money for a great charity? Read on...
So if you've seen my Facebook Wall or Twitter over the past few days, you have seen a request from me to raise money for an organization called Give Kids the World. In short, Give Kids The World is a non-profit organization that gives children with life-threatening illnesses and their families a chance to enjoy an all expenses paid vacation to the great theme parks found in central Florida. In addition, the children and their families are able to stay at the Give Kids The World Village during their stay and enjoy all the amazing amenities provided there. The Village is a "70-acre resort complete with over 140 Villa accommodations, entertainment attractions, whimsical venues, and fun specifically designed for children with special needs." They get all of this at no cost to them at all... not one dollar... not one penny... nothing.
For the children and families that visit the GTKW Village, the opportunity to enjoy a carefree visit to some of the most magical places on earth can provide a much needed respite from the trials and struggles that they face on a daily basis. For the time the children spend there, they truly do feel like princes and princesses, and they are treated with the utmost care and love. As someone who has grown up loving amusement parks, I know how even one day at a park can bring joy into my life, and that is why this charity is so important to me. This charity has brought comfort and joy to over 100,000 families, and with your help it can continue to do so for many years to come.
To show my support for the charity, I will be visiting Cedar Point on July 29th, but instead of making my normal laps around the park riding all of their rides, I will be riding the Gemini roller coaster for 10 hours straight to raise money for Give Kids The World. The event is called "Coasting for Kids" and I will be joining other coaster enthusiasts who will be also raising money for this great charity. Last year's event at Cedar Point alone raised nearly 10,000 dollars! This years event has been expanded, and will be taking place at numerous parks all over the country. I have set a goal to raise 1000 dollars for this charity... I know it's a lofty goal, but I believe we can do it!
So here's my request. Please support my efforts by donating to GTKW at the secure link found below. It only takes a minute, and I will not see one penny of this money. Everything will go directly to Give Kids The World. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me! Your donation will help bring joy to the lives of many children!
