The Epic Man

BOSTON RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE

The Epic Man

The Epic Man

Thank you for visiting my Personal Fundraising Page for the Epic Man 2011!

This year starting on April 17th, I've been inspired to participate in an event called the Epic Man.

WHAT IS THE EPIC MAN?
It started out in 2009 when two friends (Will Thomas and Seth Bradbury) set out on a challenge to kayak 2.5 miles, bike 157 miles overnight, and run 26.2 miles from Maine to the finish line of the Boston Marathon in 24 hours and no sleep.

On April 17th, myself and 9 others will join Will and Seth in this Epic journey from Peaks Island, ME to the finish line of the Boston Marathon.

In total we'll be traveling 185 miles.

You can read more about the Epic Man here: http://theepicmancometh.blogspot.com/

WHY AM I DOING THIS?
I chose to partipate in the Epic Man this year because I share the Carpe Diem mentallity that I believe Will and Seth share in their message of "Always be Epic." The beauty of being "epic" is that it's a relative term. My definition of "epic" could be completely different from your's, and thats ok. The basic underlying premise (the important part) is that you contantly push yourself to being "epic", whatever that means to you. Push harder, be stronger, live life more!

Recently I heard this in a lyric in a pop rap song that hit me, "Everybody dies, but not everyone lives." I think everyone should make the effort to live life to the fullest.

WHY DONATE TO THE RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE?
These children and their families are fighting to live! Many families travel far from home to get treatment for their seriously ill or injured children. Often, it can be a long time to be away from home, or to divide a family. And, for children facing a serious medical crisis, nothing seems scarier than not having their mom and dad close by for love and support.

The Ronald McDonald House program provides a “home-away-from-home” for families so they can stay close by their hospitalized child at little or no cost. The Houses are built on the simple idea that nothing else should matter when a family is focused on healing their child – not where they can afford to stay, where they will get their next meal or where they will lay their head at night to rest.

PLEASE HELP ME IN RAISING MONEY FOR THE BOSTON RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE BY DONATING $5 OR $10.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to make a contribution to our fundraising efforts. Many thanks for your support-- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
