Welcome to my fundraising page for the 2016 Yogathon!
Volunteering with Living Yoga is one of the most rewarding experiences I could imagine, which is what has kept me involved with the organization for the past 7 years. Though I've taught many different groups of teens and adults, for the past 2 years I've focused on teaching women incarcerated at Coffee Creek Correctional Facility in Wilsonville, OR.
What if you were trying to make a change in your life, but didn't have the tools or support to make it happen? Or perhaps you had the resources, but you just didn't feel safe for whatever reason? Maybe you've been there. Even if you don't know much about yoga, can you connect with these questions?
The populations my fellow teachers and I work with are all facing a transition. Their situation, whether it's incarceration, drug and alcohol rehab, accessing homeless services -- whatever it is -- requires that they change something. Change is scary. As humans, we resist it. Our job as Living Yoga teachers is to model and offer the tools of yoga and simple presence to support them through that transition.
Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts. Many thanks for your support -- no amount is too small -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
