I’m running my first marathon with the Achilles Freedom Team of Wounded Veterans and I’m asking you to help me support wounded veterans by donating to my run.
Achilles has had a big impact on my brother’s life. My brother, Neil, lost both of his legs while serving with the Army in Afghanistan in December 2005. Through the Freedom Team program at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Neil trained on a handcycle, a specialized adaptive bike, and was able to complete the 2006 NYC Marathon. Through the efforts of Achilles, handcycles are now permitted in the NYC Marathon, which allows wounded veterans, like my brother, to complete marathons.
I’m honored to run the 2010 NYC Marathon with the Freedom Team. I’m even more excited that my brother will also be participating in the marathon with me.
You can help support wounded veterans by donating to my run today. To donate, click on the “Sponsor Me Now” button at the top of this page. Donating through this site is simple, fast, and totally secure.
