For the 6th year, I have the honor and priveledge to participate in the Police Unity Tour with Chapter 37. This year I will be riding in memory of Officer Guy Barringer.
On April 10, 1987, Officer Barringer, 42, assigned to the Traffic Safety Division, became involved in a car chase which turned into a foot chase. Barringer struggled with the suspect and later died at home of a heart attack attributed to the pursuit. A 12-year police veteran, he was sworn in on 4-16-1975.
Survivors included his widow, Mary Kathleen Couchman Barringer; three daughters, Lisa M., JoAnn M., and Kristin M.; two sons, Stephen P. and Daniel J.; mother, Anna May Hazleton, father, the Late Guy Barringer; and two brothers, Roy E. (a former Albany Police Officer) and Lee R. Barringer.
Please help me honor Police Officer Guy Barringer by making a donation. Thank you!!
