Running for the Kids in Kenya

A little over two years ago, Barry & I felt a tug at our hearts when we heard the story of Oasis for Orphans and knew that we had to get involved. The goal of the program is to raise orphaned children in a safe and healthy environment. Without this help, most children would be forced to try to survive in the slums of Nairobi.

We sponsor a beautiful girl named Susan who we've been able to "meet" through Skype and personal letters. In addition, I am running the Chicago Marathon with the support of my family who allows me the time to train throughout the summer. Our goal is to raise at least $2,000 to help pay for building a second orphanage.

We need your help to make our goal. Please visit the Oasis for Orphans web site and read about the children. As I watch my children grow and laugh and play, I think of the children who live on The Hill who, because of the generosity of a few, are able to grow and laugh and play and learn in a safe and loving environment.

Please consider donating to support this important cause.

Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
