In September, 2006 my life took a major turn upon losing our dog Shen to cancer of the spleen. Her spirit somehow led me to Pet Haven and since that time I have found myself being transformed by the loving, forgiving and resilient nature of dogs and cats -- even those abandoned, abused and neglected.
Every year 3 - 4 million animals are euthanized each year in shelters across the country. There are simply too many animals. Pet Haven is dedicated to working collaboratively with other animal welfare groups towards a shared vision of no more homeless pets. Mister is one of 3 beautiful big black dogs I have adopted through Pet Haven. Found in a ditch in rural Iowa with two of his siblings ... he is one of the lucky few. Help us help more Misters through our adoption, spay/neuter, outreach and advocacy programs. Join us in being a voice for these gentle, fun-loving spirits.
As an all-volunteer foster based animal rescue, 100% of your donation will go directly towards helping homeless animals. Please consider making a donation to Pet Haven ... Mister is committed to training and running the 5K-9 event on 5/31 for his fellow furballs who he believes deserve a second chance!
Please spread the word and help us raise awareness and donations for homeless dogs and cats!
