although big donations are also highly appreciated ;-)

"In real life" I work as a nurse every weekend. I can't take off for all the local charity rides. This is my once a year charity ride, so you won't see me asking for money all the time. However, I am asking for your help now. Several have pledged, but the first question they ask is, "how can I get the money to you". You can still walk up and just hand me a donation but I think this web site will help.

Now on to the really important stuff... THE KIDS !

Each year 4,150 more children —11 each day — are diagnosed with a
pediatric brain tumor in the United States. Approximately 28,000 children in the U.S. are living with the diagnosis of a primary brain tumor.

71 percent of children diagnosed with a brain tumor are younger than
15 years old. Brain tumors are the deadliest form of childhood cancer. Some tumors, such as atypical teratoid / rhabdoid tumors and some brain stem gliomas,
have survival rates of less than 20 percent.

Those numbers may not be huge, but to the families of those 11 a day...

the REALITY of being 1 of those 11 must be STAGGERING

Each of these precious children and their families are facing a terrible battle. I am very thankful to have raised two healthy kids and for my healthy grandkids so I can't imagine how it would feel to find out a child you love has a brain tumor. The sad truth is that too many of these children will not survive. This has to change, but in the meantime we also have to help the kids and families today.

That is why I am so supportive of the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation. They are funding research into the future erradication of childhood brain tumors, but they also support and help families today. The PBTF is the largest non-governmental funding source for this cause in the world.

So yes, there is real, measurable good being done by this organization and I want to do all I can to help.

Thank you in advance for sponsoring me, and most of all, for helping the children !
