I wanted to send a shout out about an event I am participating in on Saturday, February 23, 2013. I shall be jumping in a pool of freezing cold water at the University of Michigan's Big House Polar Plunge.
I'm representing the University of Michigan's Hockey team as they travel that weekend to beat the Buckeyes in OH. (My husband is Billy Powers- Associate Head Coach.)
If any of you have ever had the urge to say to me, "Go jump in a lake.".... Well, now is your opportunity. Put your money where your mouth is and send me swimming, while supporting an amazing cause!
The mission of Special Olympics is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for all children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Athletes are given continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness and athletic skill, demonstrate courage, experience joy, and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes, and the community.
Help me support these special athletes who bring a smile to our face and warm our hearts.
Thanks in advance for your generosity.
