I will be participating in the 2015 Bank of America Chicago Marathon in support of Special Olympics Chicago, a wonderful organization that I have been actively involved with for many years. The communities of Beverly, Morgan Park and Mount Greenwood are home to one of the largest special recreation and education programs in the City of Chicago. I have seen first-hand the positive impact that Special Olympics Chicago programs have on its athletes and their families.
The first International Special Olympics Summer Games were held here in Chicago at Soldier Field in July, 1968. Today, there are more than 4 million athletes in 170 countries. Here in Chicago, 5,000 athletes train and compete in 22 sports, in 100 Chicago Public Schools and 23 parks throughout the Chicago Park District.
Donating through this website is simple, fast and secure. Thank you in advance for your consideration in supporting my fundraising effort to help Special Olympics Chicago.
