I've decided to run again for the Organization for Autism Research (http://www.firstgiving.com/fundraiser/michael-tilton/2012nychalf/nonprofit). I will be running the NYC Half-marathon (http://www.firstgiving.com/fundraiser/michael-tilton/2012nychalf/event) on March 18th and then the Tough Mudder in Pennsylvania on April 29th. Please support this great cause as I raise $1,000 for Autism Research.
These will by my fourth and fifth races to raise money for the Organization for Autism Research, the only Autism organization that focuses solely on applied research. When I ran the Chicago Marathon in 2010, I had the chance to meet many of the organizers and runners and I was moved by their stories. The next week, I decided to run the Newport Half-Marathon with my wife in order to raise more money for the charity.
What caught my eye in the first place was their support for military families with Autistic children. OAR has runs "Operation Autism" and has developed a Guide for Military Families in order to help families who serve their country and struggle with autism at the same time.
HOW TO GIVE:
The easiest way to give is through the link on this page (if you want to write a check or give cash, that's easy, too). Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to make a contribution to my fundraising efforts. Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
