Runner Story: Quite simply, I run because I can. In 1993 at the age of 29 I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS). I decided to do what I did best, continue to be active, stay in as best shape as I possibly could, and stay as positive as I can. My running led to longer running.. which led to my first marathon in 2000. Since then, I’ve run 16 marathons, ridden in 19 MS150 Bike tours and have raised thousands of dollars to fight this devastating disease. I run to inspire and give hope those who cannot run. My Wife Lisa, daughters Julianne and Claire, and son, Will, inspire me to continue this fight each and every day through their encouragement and support!
Why MS Run the US? When I first read about Ashley's amazing cross country adventure, I knew immediately I had to be part of it. While I’ve had great success at raising awareness and funds on a local level, an opportunity to increase awareness at the national level and push myself to new heights is extremely exciting to me. I think this MS Run the US is a truly unique and wonderful opportunity to raise ultimate awareness about MS and the strides we can make through research. It’s all about giving hope on a national level. I can’t wait to share our journey with the entire USA!
